Privacy Policy

Updated September 30, 2026

Our privacy policy in brief

We have a duty to care for the people whose data we have collected, whether or not they are our clients. Data is a responsibility, and it should only be collected and processed when it is necessary.

To protect your privacy, we apply the following principles to all data that is directly available to us:

  • We do not collect more information than necessary;
  • We do not use your data for purposes other than those stated;
  • We do not keep your data once it is no longer needed;
  • We continuously make sure that your data is stored securely;
  • We never sell, lend, distribute or publish your personal data, except data for which you have given us your explicit written consent;
  • We do not pass your data on to third parties, except to the service providers named in this Privacy Policy and, only with your consent, pseudonymous website usage data collected by Google Analytics;
  • We do not use automated decision-making or profiling;
  • We do not track visits to our website, except through Google Analytics if you consent to it;
  • We do not transfer your personal data to a third country or an international organization, except data collected by Google Analytics with your consent (see the section “Cookies and Google Analytics”).

As a business providing professional services in the Republic of Croatia, the European Economic Area and beyond, we are committed, among other things, to promoting privacy awareness and to full compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (Regulation (EU) 2016/679). We have therefore adopted this Privacy Policy to help you understand what data we collect, for what purpose we use it and how you can exercise your rights.

This website, as well as our business and information systems, has been designed to comply with the national and EU legal framework on data protection and individual privacy, and will be updated on an ongoing basis.

We regularly review our Privacy Policy in order to improve the protection of your privacy.

What data do we collect and how?

Although you can use our website without providing any personal data, Connected collects information about you once you contact us via our email address or the inquiry form on this website.

The information you enter (personal data such as your name, email address, phone number and company or property) or send to us directly by email will be processed and stored so that we can contact you and respond to your request.

Our website is not intended for persons under the age of 16. If you are under 16, please do not provide us with your personal data without the written consent of your parents.

Inquiry and quote request form

If you send us an inquiry or request a quote using the form on this website, we process the data you enter in the form: your name, email address, phone number (optional), company or property name (optional), the topic of your inquiry (optional) and your message. In addition, technical data – the language of the page from which the inquiry was sent, the IP address from which it was sent and the date and time of submission – is recorded automatically and forms part of the message we receive.

If you request a maintenance quote using the questionnaire on the “Request a quote” page, we process, in addition to your contact details (name, phone number, email address and, optionally, company or property name), the details about your property that you choose or enter: type and location of the property, number of accommodation units, details of the existing network and internet connection, network problems, the plan, period and start of maintenance you are interested in, your preferred way of being contacted and your message (optional).

We use this data solely to respond to your inquiry or to prepare a quote. The legal basis for processing is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR (steps taken at your request prior to entering into a contract) and Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (our legitimate interest in responding to inquiries addressed to us). We process the technical data to protect the form against misuse and spam.

The content of the form is sent as an email to info@connected.hr via the mail server of our web hosting provider. The data is not stored in a database on the website. To protect the form against misuse (spam), the server keeps only a cryptographic hash of your IP address (not the IP address itself) and the time of submission for at most 24 hours, to limit the number of inquiries from the same address.

We keep the data from your inquiry for as long as is necessary to handle it and, if we enter into a business relationship, for the duration of that relationship, or for as long as required by statutory retention obligations. You may exercise all the rights described in the section “Your rights” at any time.

Data controller

The controller of this website and of your personal data is:
Connected, obrt za IT i telekomunikacijske usluge, vl. Edi Borovina (sole proprietorship for IT and telecommunication services, owner Edi Borovina)
Šetalište Petra Krešimira IV 9, 20250 Orebić, Croatia
OIB (Croatian personal identification number): 51713112970 · MBO (trade register number): 98310712 · VAT ID: HR51713112970
Entered in the Croatian trade register (Upravni odjel za poduzetništvo, turizam i more, izdvojeno mjesto rada Korčula)

What is the purpose and legal basis of data collection?

We process your personal data primarily to prepare the most appropriate response to your request before entering into any business relationship, or to perform a contract between you and Connected if one already exists (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). We also keep data where required by statutory obligations (Article 6(1)(c) GDPR).

Other legal bases apply only where this Privacy Policy states them: our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) in protecting the form against misuse and in keeping existing clients informed, and your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR) for Google Analytics, the publication of your feedback and marketing messages.

How long will your personal data be stored?

We keep the personal data you provide to us by email to addresses on the connected.hr domain for as long as is necessary to handle your request and for the duration of our collaboration, or for as long as required by statutory retention obligations. After our collaboration has ended, we also keep it so that, should you wish to resume working with us, we have the information from the period in which we previously worked together.

You have the right at any time to request that we stop processing and erase your personal data by sending a request to privatnost@connected.hr.

How will we use your data?

We collect information about you in order to contact you, respond to your request and for the purposes of our business relationship. If you agree, we will also send you emails about other services we believe may be of interest to you.

Personal data is processed and stored by Connected and, to the minimum extent necessary, by our established providers of cloud, email and web hosting services located within the EU. If you consent to analytics cookies, website usage data is also processed by Google (see the section “Cookies and Google Analytics”).

Connected will never share your personal data with any unauthorized third party or give one access to it.

Information security

When Connected collects information about you, we ensure that your personal data is protected against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorized disclosure of, or access to, personal data transmitted, stored or otherwise processed. This is achieved through appropriate professional technical, physical and organizational measures.

We ensure the highest level of data protection for both our internal business records and your personal data.

About our website’s server

This website is hosted by an established web hosting provider in the EU, which also implements measures to protect personal data and ensure information security.

All traffic (file transfers) between this website and your web browser is encrypted and delivered over HTTPS.

Cookies and Google Analytics

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on the device you use to access it. They help us provide you with the best possible user experience. For example, cookies can be used to store login details on a website so that the user does not have to enter them again on their next visit.

If you have concerns about cookies, most common web browsers allow you to block them. You can also configure your web browser not to accept cookies.

If you consent by selecting “Accept” in the cookie settings, we use Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Google Analytics uses cookies to recognize your browser on repeat visits and collects data on how the website is used, such as the pages visited, the duration of the visit, form use (whether an enquiry was started or sent, without anything you type), the browser type and the type and screen resolution of your device; your device’s IP address is also transmitted to Google in the process. This data is pseudonymous: it is linked to a random identifier stored in the cookie, not to your name or contact details. We only see it as aggregate statistics, which we use to improve the website. Google may also transfer data to Google LLC in the USA; Google LLC is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. How long Google keeps this data depends on the Google Analytics settings. You can read more about how Google processes data in Google’s Privacy Policy.

The legal basis for using Google Analytics is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw your consent at any time using the “Cookie settings” button in the bottom left corner of the website and selecting “Deny”; the Google Analytics cookies are then deleted. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.

Apart from the Google Analytics cookies, our website sets no cookies. Your choice in the cookie settings (key connected-consent-statistics) and, if you change it, your chosen color theme (key connected-theme) are remembered in your web browser’s local storage; these entries are not cookies and are not sent to anyone.

Cookies used:

  • Google Analytics (_ga, _ga_*), analytics cookies, last up to 2 years, set only with your consent, used for analytics purposes

More in our Cookie Policy.

Reviews (Trustpilot and Google)

Our website links to our Trustpilot and Google profiles, where clients can post a review of our services if they wish. We do not pass your data to Trustpilot or Google for this purpose. You publish a review directly on Trustpilot or Google, under the username you choose and in accordance with their terms; Trustpilot or Google Ireland Limited, respectively, is responsible for that processing.

Read more about how Trustpilot protects and processes your personal data

Google Privacy Policy

To publish your review or feedback on the connected.hr website, we will ask for your separate consent (Article 6(1)(a) and Article 7 GDPR) and, for this purpose and only with your consent, we will use the following data:

  • for a natural person: their first and last name, the text of the feedback, the name and logo/trademark of the legal entity they represent, and their position in that entity.

Your rights

You are free to contact us at any time in order to:

  • access all personal data Connected has collected about you,
  • rectify personal data Connected holds about you,
  • erase personal data Connected has collected about you,
  • restrict the processing of your personal data by Connected,

Marketing and sales

We would like to send you information about our services that may interest you.

Once we have established initial direct contact and you have sent us your personal data via an email address on the connected.hr domain, we will respond to your request and separately ask for your consent to any further marketing activities directed at you. We will not carry out any marketing activities without your consent.

If we already have an established business relationship, we reserve the right, on the basis of our legitimate interest, to contact you about news and possible ways of expanding our collaboration, where this is also in your interest.

You have the right at any time to ask us to stop any of our marketing activities, and we will fully respect your choice.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to adapt and improve this Privacy Policy from time to time, primarily to comply with changes in the law or changes in the purposes and methods of processing.

However, we will not restrict your rights arising from this Privacy Policy or from the applicable legislation. If changes are made that may affect your rights, we will inform you in good time and directly in an appropriate manner.
